La Anclar Hometel

I and wifey together with our sons (6 and 3 years old) visited Davao to celebrate wifey’s birthday and at the same time take a breather from our very busy and hectic job. Our stay in Davao lasted for 3 days so we made sure beforehand that the place where we would stay would be comfortable yet affordable.

We picked La Anclar Hometel which is located at Bonifacio Street, Davao City. The pictures in their website were so enticing aside from the fact that it met our primary qualification which is affordable. Wifey made a reservation through email and was surprised to know that they do not require any reservation fee. That’s something unusual lately. Most hotel would require down payments by depositing in their bank accounts. But just to make sure that our reservation is valid, wifey called their number a day before our scheduled date and the receptionist confirmed about the reservations we made earlier.

Upon arrival, the staff were so accommodating. Check in process did not last for 3 minutes. Yeah! It was fast! Immediately they showed us our room. The family room which is a little bigger (I suppose) than most was clean and doesn’t have any durian smell. The comfort room is clean as well with soaps and shampoos neatly arranged.

During our entire stay in the hotel, we didn’t have any complaints about the amenities. All the lights, toilet, hot shower are working, air conditioning unit was operating well – cold and no humming sound – and the flat screen TV with remote control was functional. However, the TV needed to be programmed first before you can use it. But don’t worry, there’s an instruction card for the step by step procedure. Just in case you can’t do it by yourself, you can always dial “0” on the telephone to request assistance from the friendly staff.

The hotel is strategically located at the downtown area. Mercury Drugstore and Convenience Store is just on the corner street in case you need something. The hotel is also walking distance to San Pedro Church (for the religious catholic) and People’s Park. It is also one jeepney ride to G Mall (Gaisano Mall), Abreeza Mall and SM Lanang Premier. Just imagine the savings you get if you took the taxi. Hehehe! It is also accessible to Magsaysay Fruit Stands, SM City Davao, Jack Ridge and other known locations in Matina.

By the way, the room rates are with complimentary breakfast! Another savings and a prelude to a hassle-free morning like us with two makulit children.

Over-all Rating: 4 out of 5 stars! 😉
